When I said I was interested in another Australian adventure Joy and Kal jumped on the idea, it's great to have them with me.
On a chilly evening in April we sat together to book our flights, exciting but scary at the time!
Kal quickly made a cup of tea to help settle us down and to absorb the reality
A rather long telephone conversation followed to reserve seats in an area we fancied and we were done, at least for now
The taxi to the airport on Thursday 12th May took very little time to the airport
Once inside EVERYTHING was automated
Put the passport here, eticket there, bag tags shoots out, we fix them on to suitcases and off to a drop off desk. Didn't matter which airline desk we chose, all luggage gets sorted at the other end!
Security next and surprise surprise we seriously nutty knitters were allowed through!!
That's it! Easy peasy.
Straight to the open gate
We soon settled down in our seats just behind the wing
Hot towels, wine, soft drinks and up we went
And yes it's true we can knit on a plane, the three of us knitted socks on bamboo needles.
Knitting is good at 39,698 ft up at 657 miles an hour!
We arrived at Changi airport eleven and half hours later, ready to dash from terminal two to terminal three on the sky train.
Kal and Joy trotted along with wide eyes believing all we were told! I had to check at each turn!
Silk air airline is the regional arm of Singapore airlines, our luggage was transferred for us.
Four hours to Darwin seemed a long way, especially the last two hours!
Boeing 737 was quite small after the vastness of the airbus A380.
Tim came to the airport, Reuben drove the twenty minutes to Girraween for water and cups of tea.
Hearing aid out, glasses off and they were in the pool fully clothed!
More next time guys
